Idti, an in-cell touch technology specialist, has launched what it claims to be the world's largest full HD in-cell multitouch LCD monitor. The company will be exhibiting the product, as well as its other technologies during Computex Taipei 2010. The device features a 21.5-inch full HD touch panel and is certified for use with Windows 7. The system is built around in-cell technology developed exclusively by Idti using light sensitive devices embedded within the LCD's array grid, and can be applied towards panel sizes of up to 21.5 inches. In order to conform to normal writing habits, Idti's in-cell optical LCD panel supports pen input and adjustable usage angles (from 0 to 90 degrees), to cater to various usage habits and needs. Using a multi-touch panel is a new experience for many users, Idti stated, in explaining the thought it put into the panel's design. The company noted that it incorporated palm-rejection technology into the panel as well, which allows for comfortable hand/wrist placement on the screen panel. Idti pointed out that a number of previous touch devices on the market caused discomfort due to prolonged wrist elevation. There were concerns that users would return to using a mouse and keyboard despite their initial interest in multi-touch, due to the poorly conceived panels. Idti explained that it was one of the few experts in this area in Taiwan, and its design has been able to produce normal writing methods, and market feedback has been nothing but positive. Idti noted that palm rejection is a complicated and challenging technology; apart from the ability to detect multi-touch operation, the product also needs to be able to discern the difference between "normal operation" and "palm rejection". The company stated its technology represents a breakthrough for multi-touch and can serve as a benchmark for other multi-touch applications. Applications for the device vary from developing engineering/architectural plans to providing a fun easy-to-use large screen doodle board or gaming monitor for family use. The company said users in the "Otaku Economy" group will probably be the early adopters for such a monitor. Another feature of the product is that its optical in-cell technology allows for the elimination of additional plug-ins, resulting in lower costs than expected. The forecast for such panel shipments will reach five million panels in 2010, the company said. During Computex, visitors can visit the company's booth at Hall-3, G442. Following the successful launch of several innovative 10.1-inch netbook series in 2009, Gigabyte continued to produce unique product concepts and innovative designs at CeBIT in Europe earlier this year and the company is now gearing up to amaze the market at Computex Taipei 2010. Gigabyte will be showcasing a wide array of notebook products, ranging from the Intel Pine Trail powered 10.1-inch netbook series to its Intel Calpella powered notebook series, to even more powerful and innovative desktop replacement solutions. The company will also highlight its netbooks, ultra-thins, and other notebook models at the Computex show.2-in-1 dual function notebook seriesLeading the charge for Gigabyte's notebook lineup is the Gigabyte M1125 notebook, which the company describes as having no match anywhere in the world. The company stated that the M1125 is the world's first 11.6-inch tablet notebook bundled with a docking station that features an optical drive integrated into the station. The M1125 also supports the latest USB 3.0 technology and is based on the Intel Calpella platform. Also on display at Computex will be the 14-inch M1405 notebook, which Gigabyte says reflects its continued efforts to combine great design and looks with a powerful computing experience. The M1405 comes in dark blue, wine red, bright gold and silver. What sets it apart though is its powerful docking station with an Nvidia GT220 graphics card that delivers desktop graphics performance. The docking station also expands the connectivity of the M1405 to an extra two displays, which can all be used simultaneously, providing a three-screen solution for power users. The M1405's optical disk drive can be easily exchanged for a second battery, extending battery life up to 10 hours.Gigabyte is also introducing its 15.6-inch i1520 notebook solution, which is powered by the latest Intel Calpella platform. The i1520 is scalable through a docking solution and offers greater security through its Always Aware HDD protection technology, making it an ideal solution for business needs.Netbook seriesGigabyte will exhibit three 10.1-inch Pine Trail-M platform netbooks, the T1000, M1000 and Q1000. The company said the T1000 combines a rotating multi-touch screen with the aesthetic appeal of its gold textured surfaces and chiclet keyboard. The M1000 can be supported by a docking station, making it both a mobile device and a workstation, while the Q1000 brings simplicity of design for those that want a simple yet functional computer. Gigabyte stressed that its customers have a wide variety of choice and better options available to them thanks to these three unique netbooks.Notebook seriesThe notebook series from Gigabyte combines both commercial and entertainment functionality. Gigabyte is exhibiting a variety of models based on the Intel Calpella platform, with sizes ranging from the 14-inch Q1447 to the 15.6-inch Q1585 notebook. These notebooks incorporate Nvidia graphics as well as an HDMI interface and cater to users looking for a high quality multimedia experience, whether it is for business or pleasure. Moreover, the Q1585 features 3D cinema and provides an optimal gaming experience.Gigabyte remains committed to R&D, and is constantly working on new, exciting and innovative ideas to meet the needs of mobile users. The company stated it will continue its endeavor to develop products that suit both business and recreational lifestyles. Power supply specialist Enermax will be celebrating its 20th anniversary at Computex Taipei 2010 and the company is thrilled to invite visitors to come see its full product lineups and latest exhibitions. The company is renowned for its PRO87+ and MODU87+ power supply unit (PSU) series which the company says feature the highest certified efficiency available (91.7%) and are some of the most silent solutions on the market. These products will be on display at Computex, as will other products featuring the company's patented SpeedGuard fan control of only 330+ rpm, its new Revolution85+ PSU models, and prototypes of the upcoming 1kW class 87++ series delivering up to 1500W power. However, the company indicated the PSU buzz at Computex will be for support of the latest generation graphics cards, which require two 8p PCI Express connectors due to a maximum power consumption of more than 300W. This requirement compromises more than 90% of all PSU's available, as they feature a 50-50 mix of 6p and 8p and not pure 8p, according to Enermax. Therefore, a 1000W class PSU with 6 PEGs in total, but still using a 50-50 mix cannot power two of these graphic cards. Enermax said it is at the forefront of providing the increased support needed by the market and has readied a broad range of PSUs with 100% 6+2p (8p) connectors for maximum capability for running the latest graphics cards in multiple configurations. In addition to PSUs, Enermax will be featuring its flagship keyboard, the Aurora Lite at Computex. The company has also updated its cooling pad range with the Aeolus Premium, which features a larger wrist rest, and the Aeolus N14, which is now available for netbooks and tablets. Enermax will also launch its big tower SpineRex and the mid tower Luxuray. Customers looking for the new Appolish Vegas and TB Silence fan solutions will be happy to see that the products are now available. The current Apollish fan series is quite unique, since it uses patented technology to increase the LED number from the four commonly used per fan to up to 15. Enermax stated the patented “trick” is to not position the LEDs in the four corners of a fan's frame, but within the blade frame as an LED ring. Enermax has now increased the maximum number to 18 and added a plethora of LED modes. Seven modes let the fans flash partially or completely in different combinations by rotating LED beams and groups of beams. Apollish Vegas will replace Apollish in the company's lineup and it will include an external control for the LED modes. The T.B. Silence series focuses on silence with an acoustic noise ranging from a very quiet 15dbA to only 11dbA on the 12cm model, and the company stated customers can expect an excellent price/performance ratio. Both series utilize Enermax's patented Twister Bearing, a magnetic bearing type, which does not suffer from abrasion like mechanical bearings such as Sleeve or Ball-Bearings and has a lifetime of more than 100k hours.
