IC test interface solutions provider Chunghwa Precision Test Tech (CHPT) has seen promising chip probing demand for heterogeneous and homogeneous integration, which is increasingly demanded for semiconductors for use in 5G and AI related applications, according to the Taiwan-based company.

Eyeing the growth opportunities, CHPT has developed its mixed-needle probe card technology with multiple product samples already being delivered for validation, said the company. The new offering will be driving CHPT's sales growth in the future.

Specializing in high-end IC testing solutions, CHPT saw IC probe card sales climb as a proportion of its total revenue to 40% in 2021. The company at a shareholder meeting on June 8 said it managed to post revenue growth amid macro variables and uncertainties last year, with EPS for the year reaching NT$27.20 (US$0.92).

CHPT said the company will continue expanding its probe card business in 2022. Citing statistics compiled by Yole Developpement, CHPT said it was among the world's top-10 semiconductor probe card suppliers in 2021 when its probe card sales climbed 54.8% on year.
