PCB maker Tripod Technology expects its sales to grow in a small range in the fourth quarter as demand for related PCBs for new ultrabooks and Windows 8 models will remain limited, according to the company.
Tripod posted revenues of NT$9.87 billion (US$335.71 million) in the third quarter, down 1.6% from the previous quarter. For September alone, revenues reached NT$3.11 billion, up 1.8% on month but down 5.6% on year. Sales for first nine months of 2012 totaled NT$29.24 billion, decreasing 6.7% from a year earlier.
Sales of HDI boards for handsets, and PCBs for in-car devices, servers and networking devices were stable in the third quarter, while those for PCs, LCD TVs and monitors were affected by adverse market conditions, Tripod revealed.
