Delta India Electronics, Taiwan-based Delta Electronics's India subsidiary, on July 11 announced the obtaining of LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Gold-level certification for its factory in Rudrapur from the India Green Building Council, with the factory's power consumption 35% lower than conventional factories of the same size and level.
The factory in Rudrapur was inaugurated in 2008, with building design featuring light penetration to maximize use of sunlight and natural ventilation, collection of rain water for reuse, adoption of eco-friendly building materials, 60% of the factory site landscaped with green areas, Delta Electronics pointed out.
Delta India has two other factories located in Gurgaon and Pondicherry and two R&D centers in Gurgaon and Bangalore.
