Kulicke and Soffa Industries has appointed Raj Talluri as president and chief executive officer, a leadership change that may influence the company's strategy in semiconductor equipment markets used across Asia, the US, and Europe. The move signals continuity for investors, while highlighting the global competition shaping chip manufacturing supply chains.
Singapore-based Kulicke and Soffa said Talluri will take over as CEO on September 1, 2026, having joined its board effective August 17, 2026. The Nasdaq-listed company also said interim CEO Lester A. Wong will remain executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Chairman Peter T. Kong said the company was grateful to Wong for guiding it through the transition and said Talluri's experience made him the right leader for the next stage of growth.
Wong said he was thankful for the chance to lead the company and would support a smooth handover. Talluri said he was honored to join Kulicke and Soffa and described the company's interconnect solutions as a valuable portfolio for the industry.
Talluri joins Kulicke and Soffa from Enovix Corporation, where he most recently served as president, chief executive officer, and a board member. Before that, he was senior vice president and general manager of Micron Technology's mobile business unit from March 2018 through December 2022. He has also held senior leadership roles at Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, as well as engineering and business positions at Texas Instruments.
Talluri holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.Eng. from Anna University, and a B.S. in engineering from Andhra University.
Kulicke and Soffa supplies semiconductor assembly and electronics manufacturing equipment, making its leadership decisions relevant to global chipmakers and device manufacturers that depend on packaging and interconnect technologies.
