Kaynes Semicon, a subsidiary of Kaynes Technology and India's first advanced OSAT and module manufacturer, has announced a series of strategic partnerships during Semicon India 2025, held from September 2-4, 2025. The collaborations underscore India's push to expand its semiconductor manufacturing and testing capabilities, while positioning Kaynes as a key industry player, according to multiple reports, including The Economic Times, Electronics Media, DQ India, and Devdiscourse.

First "Made in India" MEMS microphone takes center stage

In one of the headline agreements, Kaynes signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infineon Technologies to explore joint opportunities in India's fast-growing semiconductor market. The partnership will see Kaynes launch its first "Made in India" MEMS Microphone, integrating Infineon's bare die technology for next-generation wearable devices, including TWS earbuds.

Infineon will also supply high-performance bare die wafers for Kaynes to package into discrete and module products, targeting energy, industrial, and consumer applications. The collaboration aims to strengthen India's local supply chain, reduce import dependency, and deliver cost-optimized, energy-efficient solutions with shorter lead times.

Emerson partnership scales testing capabilities

Kaynes also deepened its focus on semiconductor testing by partnering with industrial technology leader Emerson. Under the agreement, Kaynes will deploy Emerson's NI Semiconductor Test System (STS) as its preferred platform across analog, mixed-signal, RF, power, and MEMS device testing. Standardizing infrastructure on NI STS will help Kaynes scale production, improve flexibility, and shorten time-to-market, aligning with its ambition to be a trusted Test-as-a-Service partner.

Automotive consortium drives indigenous development

Expanding into advanced automotive and mobility technologies, Kaynes joined forces with Bharat Semi company 3rdiTech, along with SENSESEMI Technologies, Focally, NXP, and SPARSHIQ. The consortium, formalized through an MoU signed in the presence of IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, seeks to accelerate indigenous semiconductor and vision-system development. The partnership highlights efforts to build a resilient value chain for high-performance, safety-critical electronics while bolstering India's self-reliance and competitiveness in export-grade technologies.

UST collaboration paves way for Gujarat OSAT plant

In another development, Kaynes announced an equity-linked collaboration with US Technology International (UST). The company will issue 27,778 compulsorily convertible preference shares, amounting to a 10% shareholding upon conversion, with terms tied to revenue milestones. The agreement supports Kaynes' plans to establish an Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) plant in Sanand, Gujarat, marking a significant step in India's semiconductor packaging roadmap.
