Seasonality was the key driver in boosting global tablet shipments in the third quarter with volumes rising 10% sequentially to hit around 31 million units.
The retail channel's inventory replenishment for the peak season was one of the key factors in boosting global tablet shipments in the third and fourth quarters.
Shipments of iPads enjoyed a sequential growth higher than those of non-iPad tablets in both quarters of the second half, which boosted iPad's share by 2pp a quarter to arrive at over 40% in the fourth quarter. The growth was driven by Apple's inventory replenishment for the holiday season.
