Microchip to invest US$300 million in India
According to Business Today, US-based Microchip Technology announced an investment of US$300 million in India to expand the existing R&D center and engineering labs in India and acquire talents as India's semiconductor ecosystem is growing.
HPE to make servers in India
Mint reported that HPE signed an MoU with India-based VVDN Technologies to produce about US$1 billion of high-end servers in VVDN's plant in Manesar, Haryana, as India's demand for servers has been growing with digitalization in recent years and India renewed its efforts to encourage local manufacturing of PCs and servers.
Reliance Jio launches US$12 feature phone to speed up India's 4G transition
The Economic Times reported that Reliance Jio launched a 4G-enabled Jio Bharat that cost INR999 (US$12) and comes with a bundled monthly plan of 14GB of data and unlimited voice calls with a monthly plan of INR123. Reliance aims to help 250 million mobile 2G users to upgrade to its 4G services.

Mint reported that according to a study by the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association, India imposed the highest tariffs on electronics components among major electronics exporters, including Vietnam and China. Reuters reported that Adani Green Energy announced a plan to raise funds of up to INR123 billion (US$1.49 billion) through qualified institutional placement (QIP) o expand its green business, adding that the actual amount to be raised will be subject to regulatory and statutory approvals.
India looking to export green hydrogen to Asia and Europe
Reuters quoted sources saying that India had begun talking with the EU and Singapore to supply green hydrogen, with the EU likely receiving 10 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen every year. India launched the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to build capacities to produce at least 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2030.
