Coretronic shipped 1.92 million LED backlight units (BLUs) as well as 52,000 projectors and visual solution devices, with the former decreasing 20% on month and the latter slipping 41% on month and 13% on year, according to the company.
The decrease in shipment was mainly because of fewer working days due to 2023 Lunar New Year holidays in late January, Coretronic said.
January sales revenues of NT$1.261 billion (US$42.0 million) from LED BLUs declined 6% on month and 54% on year. In terms of application of LED BLUs, 25.5% of the sales revenues came from TVs and public information displays, 17.7% from LCD monitors, 44.6% from notebooks and 5.6% from tablets.
For projectors and visual solution devices, January sales revenues of NT$755 million dipped 31% on month and 27% on year.
Coretronic expects February shipments of LED BLUs to significantly increase on month and those of projectors and visual solution devices to grow hike sequentially.
Coretronic has reported consolidated revenues of NT$2.848 billion for January, dropping 17.16% on month and 38.82% on year.
