Zoom Video Communications has kicked off operations at its new cloud computing data center in Taiwan. The launch of the center is to fulfill its commitment to ensuring the quality and reliability of its video conferencing services.

With the data center operations locally in Taiwan, Zoom has met the criteria set forth by the Taiwan government, said the US video conferencing company. The iOS and Android versions of its mobile applications also went through tests conducted by the government-sponsored Telecom Technology Center.

Zoom regards itself as a constructive role, and is looking to grow its presence in many industries in Taiwan including the local public sector, according to company product and engineering president Velchamy Sankarlingam.
