Embedded motherboard and industrial computer module maker Avalue Technology has obtained orders with shipments scheduled until the end of 2022, according to company president Philip Chang.

However, short supply of components and materials is still impacting production and the problem will remain unsolved until third-quarter 2022, Chang said. For some components, the time from ordering to deliveries has bene prolonged to over 80 weeks, Chang noted. Due to the shortage, about 40% of products will need to source components from the spot market if shipments have to be on time, which may costs much higher and lead to lower gross margins, Chang indicated.

Avalue posted consolidated revenues of NT$4.928 billion (US$177 million), and net profit of NT$206.4 million for 2021.

In terms of application of products, medical and health care accounted for 26% of the revenues; gaming, lottery and casino machines 17%; retail operation and kiosks 16%; manufacturing and industrial purposes 15%; and others 26%.

For future growth, Avalue will focus on AI and/or IoT solutions for smart medical care, smart manufacturing, smart retail operation, intelligent transportation, Chang said.
