Japan-based Fanuc recently delivered its 750,000th industrial robot to a Europe-based client, according to president and CEO Shinichi Tanzawa for Fanuc Europe.

Fanuc saw industrial robot sales in the Europe market in the past several months hit high, reflecting that demand in the market has begun to recover from the coronavirus pandemic, Tanzawa said. To keep expanding marketing and services in the Europe market, Fanuc invested EUR120 million (US$142 million) in supporting facilities in the past four years and will invest another EUR100 million over the next three years, Tanzawa noted.

Fanuc has monthly production capacity of 11,000 industrial robots in Japan, with the capacity actually producing about 8,000 units a month.

While Fanuc has automakers and their supply chain makers as the largest client base for its industrial robots, demand from manufacturing industries of electronics, food, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment is increasing.
