Wistron has announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft AI R&D Center in Taiwan to set up an office for jointly developing innovative products, mainly AI-based solutions for smart manufacturing, retail and office, in a bid to help local enterprises in digital transformation.
The cooperation is through WiAdvance Technology, Wistron's wholly-owned subsidiary which develops AI-based solutions using Microsoft Azure and 365.
The cooperation is intended to combine Wistron's resources and WiAdvance's business experience with Microsoft's AI expertise to help local enterprises solve operational problems, said Wistron vice chairman and WiAdvance chairman Robert Huang.
Wistron, for the cooperation, will invest about NT$50 million (US$1.7 million) over the next two years and assign more than 30 engineers. Besides, Wistron and Microsoft AI R&D Center in Taiwan will jointly run training programs.
