IC front-end tool supplier Gudeng Precision Industrial has disclosed plans to sell its real estate located at the Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) to TSMC for a total of NT$660 million (US$22.1 million).

Gudeng will recognize an estimated NT$518 million in gains from the sale in its financial statement for the second quarter of 2020, said the company, adding that the recognized gains are expected to boost its earnings by nearly NT$7 per share.

Proceeds from the real estate sale will be utilized mainly for the company's production relocation, Gudeng continued. Gudeng added its existing factory site at the Tree Valley Park industrial park, southern Taiwan will be the focus of its future expansion.

Gudeng reported consolidated revenue grew 22% sequentially to NT$242 million in April 2020, with EPS reaching an estimated NT$0.42. The company saw its operating profits surge NT$0.58 per share on year during the month, but net income per share was down from the same period in 2019 when non-operating profits were higher.

Gudeng disclosed its cumulative 2020 revenue through April climbed 30.4% from a year earlier to NT$697 million.

Looking forward, Gudeng indicated that its order visibility starting May has been greatly enhanced. The provider of EUV mask pods and other wafer handling solutions is optimistic about demand for its customers' new 12- and 8-inch fab construction projects this year.
