Netronix, a Taiwan-based provider of ePaper solutions, will ramp up its shipments of new products for education, aviation, logistics, and other IoT applications in 2020, according to the firm's chief operation officer CM Lin.
Lin said Netronix has newly developed colored e-book readers by combining the color filter array technology and print-color ePaper aiming to replace monochromatic e-readers that can hardly satisfy the needs of consumers.
Lin disclosed that Netronix will start shipments of its newly developed colored e-book readers to clients in Europe, the US, Japan and China in the second half of 2020, and shipments of colored e-notebook readers will also kick off by the end of 2020 or early 2021.
Netronix will also ramp up shipments of plug-type electronic baggage tags (EBT) to airlines in Europe and Asia in the second half of 2020, Lin said, adding that the firm's battery-free EBTs adopt NFC and FRID technologies for luggage tracing and recognition to reduce the risk of baggage getting lost.
Netronix is also negotiating with logistics operators over applying its logistic tags to help trace whereabouts of their cargo. As the firm's latest ePaper solution, logistic tags feature built-in G-sensors, temperature detectors and GPS device, with wireless signal transmission through NB-IoT networks, according to Lin.
In terms of medical applications, Lin said, the company has cooperated with a major hospital in central Taiwan to incorporate its ePaper into a series of medical solutions and will ship its ePaper medical solutions to major hospitals in Japan and the US in 2020.
