FitTec optimistic about mini LED equipment

LED probing and testing equipment maker FiTech is optimistic about demand for mini LED probing, testing and sorting equipment from China- and Taiwan-based makers and expects shipments in 2020 to hike a few times on year, according to the company.

While regular LEDs have seen serious oversupply, demand for mini LED chips is going to take off, FitTech said, adding since mini LED chips are smaller LED chips, probing, testing and sorting are more complicated and important processes for the former than for the latter.

As most mini LED makers are poised to start production, FitTech expects shipments for mini LED chip probing, testing and sorting equipment to take off in fourth-quarter 2019 and to hike in 2020.

With China-based HC SemiTek, Xiamen Xindeco Optoelectronics and Hangzhou Silan Microelectronics being the largest clients, FitTech has reached a market share of 50% for LED probing and testing equipment and 80% for LED sorting equipment in the China market, industry sources said.
