Taiwan recorded exports totaling US$29.00 billion in value in August 2019, the highest-ever for the month with growths of 2.8% sequentially and 2.6% on year. Imports in August totaled US$23.02 billion in value, slipping 6.5% sequentially and 2.7% on year, according to statistics released on September 9 by the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
Electronic components had the largest export value of US$10.483 billion in August, increasing 10.3% sequentially and 7.5% on year, with ICs taking up 89.4% of the segment's value.
Exports of NT$215.41 billion and imports of US$185.94 billion in total avlue for January-August decreased 2.3% and 1.1% respectively on year.
