Compeq Manufacturing remains focused on growing its business in the any-layer HDI PCB segment, despite unfavorable global trade conditions that may deter customer demand.
Any-layer HDI PCB demand remains promising for smartphones, said Compeq chairman Wu Chien at a recent shareholders meeting. Despite uncertainty arising from the US-China trade disputes and the US ban on Huawei, the adoption of any-layer PCBs among smartphones continues to grow making a positive contribution to Compeq's sales thus far in 2019, Wu indicated.
Wu continued that 2018 is a "trough" for Compeq. Sales have started picking up since early 2019, and the company will be pursuing revenue growth in all of the year, according to Wu.
Compeq's cumulative 2019 revenues through May came to NT$18.53 billion (US$588.3 million), rising 3.7% on year.
Compeq will keep a close eye on the development of the US-China trade disputes, which have not had a material impact on the PCB firm's performance, Wu noted.
