E Ink Holding (EIH) will team up with its hardware and software partners to tap into the global medical display industry after achieving significant results from promoting its e-paper medical display solutions into local hospitals in Taiwan.
Major e-paper display solutions being developed by the group include medical care information boards, clinic reception displays, drip recording cards, smart drug labelling systems, clinic bed cards, mobile data recording boards, in 2.9-, 5.65-, 13.3- and 42-inch sizes, according to sources at EIH.
These e-paper-based display devices are co-developed with hardware partners including Advantech, Avalue Technology, Cypress Technology and software partner iMedtac.
And some of these medical display products have found their way into a number of local hospitals, including National Taiwan University Hospital, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, and Cheng Kung University Hospital, the sources revealed.
The e-paper medical display systems installed at Cheng Kung University Hospital were developed by EIH and system operators with iMedtac assisting the integration of all software systems and Avalue Technology integrating related hardware systems, the sources added.
Advantech, leveraging its marketing channels, will lead the group to explore the medical market in the US initially before tapping into other potential markets, said the sources.
