Chairman of Pegatron and Taipei Computer Association (TCA) TH Tung, commenting on several countries considering banning the use of Huawei equipment, has said IT players worldwide need to be cautious about political influence on industrial developments.
With the US government mulling a ban on telecom equipment made by China-based makers, Germany and the Netherlands have also started considering the same move due to information security concerns.
Attention on legal issues such as IP infringements has also been growing rapidly and new laws from are also appearing from around the world faster than before, Tung said.
