Pegatron has announced consolidated revenues of NT$75.89 billion (US$2.5 billion) for June 2018, down 16.6% sequentially and 5.2% on year, as Pegatron's clients were transitioning to new products.
However, Pegatron's combined consolidated revenues from January to June still went up 15.17% on year to reach around NT$552.09 billion. For the second quarter, the amount was NT$271.19 billion, down from first-quarter's NT$280.89 billion, but up 12.8% on year.
Pegatron shipped 400,000-500,000 units of notebooks in June, 1.5 million units in the second quarter and a total of 3.5 million units in the first half, while shipments of desktops and motherboards were 2.5 million units in the second quarter and 4.5-5 million in the first half.
For the second half, company chairman TH Tung is optimistic about overall demand and is already making preparations for its US-based first-tier handset client's next-generation smartphone orders.
The third quarter is the traditional peak season and labor shortages could be a potential issue for the IT industry, but the impact is still difficult to predict at this point.
