The Teradata Universe Beijing 2018 opened on May 18 under the theme of "Think Data. Drive Business," with some 1,000 attendees from the Greater China area participating to learn from the world-leading visionary thinkers, business executives, data scientists, analysts and technologies on how to make smarter and better use of data, according to Teradata China, organizer of the event.
At a pre-event press conference, Aaron Hsin, Teradata's Greater China president, said that the forum is designed to promote the data-driven transformation of the society and the industrial sectors, as well as the development of related ecosystems, with focuses on the latest data analysis trends, data-centric analysis culture, business success stories driven by data analysis and AI, and evolutions of data analysis technologies, as well as on success stories and experiences associated with edge computing.
Hsin said that demand for data analysis is universal as the analysis can help customers reduce operating costs and boost revenues, adding that early and predictive analysis can serve to provide possible production, sales and market situations and scenarios customers may face in the future and help them map out effective solutions.
As a major US-based provider of database and analytics-related products and services, Teradata is building a comprehensive data analysis ecosystem, promoting the culture of data-driving business values, and offering advanced B2C total analysis solutions to enterprise customers spreading in the banking, telecom, aviation, travel, retail, and healthcare sectors. The company is also moving to develop big data analysis services to large-size enterprises engaged in B2B operations, including newly emerging web enterprises, according to Hsin.
