China-based GCL System Integration Technology has dismissed media reports that said the company would terminate PV module production and refocus on highly profitable semiconductor materials.
GCLSI said it will continue producing PV modules but is also preparing for semiconductor materials production.
GCLSI has enhanced competitiveness module production by improving technology and decreasing production cost, as well as increasing supply of PV modules for PV power generation projects it undertakes, company chairman Shu Hua said.
GCLSI was seventh in global PV module maker rankings in 2017.
