Five tech startups from Taiwan are showcasing their latest developments in IoT applications at the Internet of Things World 2018 held May 14-17 in Silicon Valley, seeking to enter cooperation with enterprises operating there or win financial support from potential angel investors, according to the Taiwan government-funded Asia Silicon Valley Development Agency (ASVDA).
The five Taiwan startups, led by ASVDA CEO Chiou Jiunn-rong, are Baojing Electronics, iCarry, Global Pass, Hex Safety and 3Egreen Technology. They have all scored impressive sales records in the Southeast Asia market and are moving to tap the US market by showing their IoT prowess at the Taiwan Pavilion in the world's largest annual IoT event, ASVDA said.
Among them, Baojing is showcasing its Totokan baby monitor, which is a portable and water-resistant device with a camera lens and intercom function, allowing parents to use their smartphone app to take care of their babies.
Just setting up a foothold in the US in early May 2018, iCarry mainly offers services covering travel, money flow, cross-border logistics and e-commerce, and consumers can have their souvenirs or gifts they purchase through iCarry apps directly delivered to hotels, airports and even their homes.
Global Pass can utilize IoT technologies to turn private empty land areas into parking spaces, allowing landlords to rent out their parking lots on an hourly, daily, monthly or unit basis. It can also provide car owners with global parking lots information, helping them safely and easily park their cars at any selected parking space.
HEX Safety displays dynamic evacuation system incorporating smart technologies for firefighting purposes. The system can automatically analyze the hazard potential of the area and guide evacuees toward the safest exits.
As to 3Egreen Technology, it mainly exhibits various RF Bluetooth low energy (BLE) solutions, multi-point and bi-directional BLE gateway solutions and customized wireless connected devices needed for security, power management and other purposes at plants, convenience stores and shopping centers.
