Vertically-integrated LED firm Lextar Electronics has disclosed it is cooperating with Europe-based lamp vendors to develop human-centric lighting featuring control systems that adjust color temperatures to simulate light at different times of the day.
It said in-house-developed Solar White LED technology has also been adopted to produce lighting close to natural sunlight.
In view of increasing price competition in LED lighting, Lextar is developing human-centric lighting to hike added value of products, the company explained.
With mixed color temperatures and control systems, human-centric LED lighting simulates variations in color of sunlight from morning to evening, and caters to indoor environment without natural sunlight, Lextar noted.
Based on Solar White LED technology, LED chips' wavelength of spectrum can simulate that of natural sunlight with Rf (color fidelity index) reaching 94 and Rg (color gamut score) reaching 99, Lextar explained.
Lextar will showcase LED lighting application at the 2016 Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) during October 27-30. Lextar will exhibit Alluxia, a bezel-less LED panel light equipped with human-centric lighting which has won a German Design Award and a 2016 Red Dot Design Award, the company said.
Thanks to growing shipments to US- and Europe-based clients, Lextar saw the revenue proportion for LED lighting rise from 45% in the first quarter of 2016 to 50% in the second quarter and expects the proportion to reach at least 50% for the whole of 2016.
