LandMark Optoelectronics expects Si photonics products to bring in revenues beginning 2016

LandMark Optoelectronics, which manufactures GaAs- and InP-based epitaxial wafers for laser diodes and photo detectors used in optical communications, posted consolidated revenues of NT$551.7 million (US$16.8 million), gross margin of 66.79%, net operating profit of 320.3 million, net profit of NT$278.9 billion and net EPS of NT$4.06 for the third quarter of 2015, according to a note posted to the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).

For January-September, the company recorded consolidated revenues of NT$1.407 billion, gross margin of 65.32%, net operating profit of 801.4 million, net profit of NT$678.1 billion and net EPS of NT$10.30.

Of the January-September consolidated revenues, 41% came from China, 40% from Taiwan, 17% from the US, LandMark stated in a presentation for its quarterly investor conference..

According to previous Digitimes reports, the company is said to have become a partner of Intel Silicon Photonics research project and expects silicon (Si) photonics products to begin to generate revenues in 2016. LandMark has expanded epitaxial wafer capacity to 18 MOCVD sets in total and will add a large MOCVD set, with capacity 2-3 times that for a conventional MOCVD set, in the first quarter of 2016, the previous report stated.
