Taiwan market: Acer launches Predator products

, Taipei
0

Acer has launched a number of gaming products including a tablet, and several notebooks and desktops under its Predator brand. The products will become available in Taiwan starting November.

Acer Taiwan president Towny Huang also pointed out that the company is expected to surpass Asustek Computer and become the second largest gaming notebook vendor in Taiwan in the near future, behind only Micro-Star International (MSI).

Currently, Acer has a share of 24% in Taiwan's notebook market and the percentage is expected to rise to 26% by the end of 2015 and 28% by the end of 2016 with the gaming notebook product line being a major growth contributor.

Acer expects its gaming tablet to see sales of 1,000 units per month as the device so far has not yet seen a major competitor, while its gaming notebooks and desktops will see at least 500 in unit sales per month.

Acer's Predator 8 gaming tablet features an 8-inch 1,920 by 1,200 display and is priced at around NT$10,000 (US$303). Acer's Predator notebooks are priced at more than NT$90,000 and is expected to see limited sales due to their high prices.
