PCL Technologies, an optical component and module maker with production facilities in China, expects shipments of optical transceiver modules used in LTE and LTE-A (LTE-Advanced) networks to Japan-based mobile telecom carriers and those of 10Gbps SFP+ (enhanced small form-factor pluggable) optical transceiver modules used in data centers to US-based Avago Technologies to steadily increase in 2015, according to the company.

Japan-based mobile telecom carriers' establishment of LTE networks will peak in 2015 and have also begun to set up LTE-A networks, resulting in large demand for optical transceiver modules, PCL said.

Continued establishment of cloud computing data centers by Google, Amazon, Facebook and Microsoft is expected to bring orders for 10Gbps SFP+ optical transceiver modules in 2015, PCL indicated, adding it has started production of 16Gbps models, the company said.

PCL posted consolidated revenues of NT$1.780 billion (US$56.3 million), gross margin of 23.52%, net operating profit of NT$234 million, net profit of NT$253 million and net EPS of NT$5.00 for 2014 operations and will distribute a dividend per share of NT$5.00, NT$4.50 in cash and NT$0.50 in stock.
