The February 2015 home electronics market witnessed several developments, including GE Appliances further integrating into the smart home market coupled with the launch of new high-end high dynamic range (HDR) TVs, according to Digitimes Research.
GE is developing its Wink smart home platform with Quirky, which is offered in GE Appliances' products, and has pushed the application into refrigerator products in an effort to expand its smart home ecosystem.
Digitimes Research also noted that HDR Ultra HD (4K) TVs are becoming the new target for TV vendors over the next two years as part of their high-end lineups as other models will drop in price and become more affordable in the market.
