Taiwan-based Young Optics has reported consolidated net profits of NT$112 million for the third quarter, representing an on-quarter increase of 41.7%.
Young Optics noted that third-quarter consolidated revenues totaled NT$1.768 billion, representing a slight growth of 0.62% compared to the second quarter. Gross margin in the third quarter was 25.43%, up 2.22 percentage points from the second quarter. The increase in gross margin was due to a change in product mix where low-margin products' share of revenues dropped.
The firm's consolidated revenues for the first three quarters of 2012 reached NT$4.954 billion (US$169 million). Accumulated operating gross profit was NT$1.263 billion and gross margin was 25.49%. Net profits came to NT$292 million.
