Calin Technology, a Taiwan-based maker of glass lens pieces mainly for use in Canon DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) cameras, is expanding it production capacity of such lens pieces through constructing a factory in Chiayi, central Taiwan, and installing production equipment at its newly completed factory in Taichung, central Taiwan, according to the company.
The factory in Chiayi will be completed as early as the end of 2012, Calin pointed out. Shipments of glass lens pieces to Canon have accounted for more than 90% of it total revenues, Calin indicated.
