Fujitsu on July 3 unveiled UH572, its first ultrabook equipped with Core i5-3317U processor, 13.3-inch screen, hybrid storage device and weighing 1.6kg, for launch in the Taiwan market at a recommended retail price of about NT$30,000 (US$1,001).
UH572 is produced by Inventec, according to industry sources.
Fujitsu also unveiled two business-use notebooks, Lifebook SH772 and SH572, for sale at NT$69,800 and NT$49,800 respectively, the sources noted, adding the two models are made in-house by Fujitsu.
Fujitsu will launch a high-end business-use ultrabook, the 14-inch U772, in the Taiwan market in August, the sources said.
In-house and ODM production each account for 50% of Fujitsu's notebook shipments, with Quanta Computer and Inventec its major ODMs, the sources indicated.
