China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile, the three largest telecom carriers in China, will invest a total of CNY370 billion (US$58.6 billion) in fiber-optic infrastructure in 2012, growing by 10% from 2011, to expand fixed-line broadband networks around China in line with policies set by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), according to MIIT.
