Panel component suppliers such as LED player Lextar, surface glass maker G-Tech Optoelectronics (G-Tech) and light guide plate maker Chimei Materials are expect to debut on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) later in second-half 2011. Despite the weak panel market, the three firms have been showing impressive performances thanks to their own efforts and support from their strong parent companies, according to industry sources.

Lextar, an LED arm of AU Optronics (AUO), plans to list on TSE at the end of September 2011. The company has seen growth in its lighting equipment segment in third-quarter 2011 and forecast increasing sales from the segment for the second half. Lighting products are expected to take up 40% of its total revenues in 2011.

G-Tech, a member of Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and a supplier of indium tin oxide-coated (ITO) glass, sets to become a publicly traded company in Taiwan in October 2011. G-Tech's shipments to Apple have reportedly reached nearly 80% of its total revenues through the company's collaboration with TPK Holding and Chimei Innolux (CMI). The maker is also developing products for large-size panels.

Chimei Materials, a Chi Mei Group subsidiary, may start strading on TSE as early as the end of October 2011. Up to 90% of the company's total revenues are from light guide plates, but it recently has started tapping the touchscreen market by providing optically clear adhesive (OCA), a liquid-based bonding material used in touch panels. The maker has been shipping OCA since August.
