Taiwan-based drill bit maker Topoint Technology has decided to set up a new PCB drilling plant in Suzhou, China due to increasing demand for drilling services from PCB clients, according to the company.
Topoint will invest US$6 million in the new plant initially, which will offer hole drilling services and drill bit tests for production of IC substrates and PCB boards – HDI boards in particular, said the company.
Additionally, Shanghai Topoint Precision Technology, a subsidiary of Topoint, also plans to make an investment of CNY3.4 million (US$524,000) in China-based Ksrestek Technology, to expand Topoing's PCB drilling and routing business in China, according to a Topoint's filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
