SerComm delivers 1,000 femtocells to earthquake-hit areas in Japan

SerComm, a Taiwan-based maker of broadband and wireless networking equipment, has delivered about 1,000 femtocells to earthquake-hit areas in northeastern Japan, including Fukushima and Iwate Prefectures, to temporarily restore mobile communication networks, according to company president James Wang.

SerComm's technical staff is working in cooperation with SoftBank Mobile, Japan's third-largest mobile telecom carrier, Wang pointed out.
