Coretronic has announced consolidated revenues of NT$5.69 billion (US$196.51 million) for January 2011, a decrease of 11.8% sequentially and 12% on year.
Projector shipments for the month were 89,000 units, down 12% sequentially due to a shortage of components, and revenues for projectors were NT$1.18 billion, down 15% sequentially.
For backlight units (BLUs), shipments in January totaled 4.89 million units, down 16.5% sequentially, while revenues for the segment decreased 12.5% sequentially to NT$3.4 billion.
BLU shipments for TVs were 1.14 million units, up 10% sequentially, of which 31% were LED-backlit models. Monitor BLU shipments were 2.14 million, of which 33% were LED-backlit models. BLUs for notebooks were 1.52 million units, and LED-backlit models accounted for 98% of the shipments.
Coretronic expects BLU shipments will continue to increase in February despite fewer working days.
