Kinko Optical, a Taiwan-based maker of glass optical lenses and camera lenses, on July 7 reported unaudited consolidated revenues of NT$453 million (US$14.1 million) for June, the highest monthly figure ever on record and resulting in a new record quarterly level of NT$1.290 billion for the second quarter of 2010.
Kinko's revenue growth has mainly come from shipments of precision molded glass aspherical lenses used in Canon DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) cameras, the company pointed out. Kinko will expand its monthly production capacity of glass lenses from one million pieces currently to 2.4 million pieces in the third quarter of 2011, the company indicated.
