Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) expects June revenues to increase sequentially, according to the company. The chip packaging and testing house also expressed optimism that sales may grow through August, buoyed by brisk demand for PC and consumer electronics applications.
ASE indicated that it has utilized 100% of its packaging capacity, and 85% of testing since the beginning of the second quarter. The backend service supplier is also gearing up expanding capacity at its production bases in China and Taiwan.
Excluding sales generated by Universal Scientific Industrial (USI), ASE saw overall sales of its ATM (assembly test and material) business hit an all-time high at NT$10.62 billion (US$326 million) in May 2010. The figure showed growth of 6.5% on month and 50.9% on year.
In other news, memory IC packaging and testing service provider Power ASE Technology's application to be listed on Taiwan's Emerging Stock Board (ESB) has been approved. It is scheduled to begin trading on the emerging stock market on June 18.
