Nokia expects the business of its traditional-Chinese version of Ovi services in Taiwan, including Ovi Store, Ovi Maps and Nokia Messaging, to experience a major take-off in 2010, according to Michael Hsu, general manager of Nokia Taiwan.
Nokia has launched localized Ovi Store in 18 countries supporting 30 languages, and those stores combined are currently attracting over 1.5 million visitors a month, Hsu said citing Nokia data.
The Ovi Maps service, which offers maps of 74 countries and supports 46 languages, has attained more than three million downloads cumulatively since the service was launched at the end January 2010, according Nokia data.
Furthermore, the number of subscribers to Nokia Messaging is increasing at a pace of over one million a month, the data showed.
In addition to launching Symbian-based mobile devices, Nokia also plans to launch new mobile devices based on MeeGo platform in the second half of 2010, Hsu revealed.
