More Japan-based IT companies are switching their PCB orders from makers in Japan to Thailand, as PCB makers in Thailand have become more competitive recently by utilizing government incentive programs, according to industry sources.

PCB production value in Southeast Asia has reached US$3-3.5 billion, and Thailand accounts for 30-40% of the total. PCB makers in Thailand are expected to become the biggest competitors of China suppliers, the sources indicated.

Major Thailand PCB companies include KCE, Taiwan-invested Apex Circuit International and Draco PCB, and Hong-Kong-invested Elec & Eltek.
