Taiwan export order value down in November

Taiwan received export orders worth US$31.260 billion in November 2009, decreasing 1.56% sequentially but increasing 37.11% on year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on December 23.

IT/communication and electronic products were the top two categories in terms of export order value, with the former recording US$8.578 billion in November and US$71.121 billion in January-November and the latter US$7.591 billion and US$70.652 billion respectively.

The total export order value of US$290.715 billion for January-November decreased by 12.15% from the same period of 2008.

MOEA also released statistics on Taiwan's industrial production (manufacturing, quarry & mining, construction, electricity/gas/water supply industries) indexes, with November production value dropping 1.24% sequentially but rising 31.46% on year and January-November production value dropping 12.39% on year.
