China-based TFT-LCD driver IC and capacitive touch controller supplier Pixcir Microelectronics has recently expanded its cooperation with Taiwan-based touch panel suppliers including Cando and Sintek Photronic, and completed testing for 5- to 17.3-inch touchscreen modules, according to market sources.
At least four of the solutions will enter mass production before the end of 2010, the sources added.
A touchscreen solution using Pixcir's controller and Cando's capacitive touch panel has been selected for Acer's 15.6-inch Windows 7 touchscreen notebook.
Pixcir indicated that its touch controller chip offers more stable performance with its ITO production process, and that is why Pixcir has been selected by first-tier notebook vendors.
