STN LCD panel maker Emerging Display Technologies (EDT) has announced revenues of NT$272.69 million (US$8.44 million) for September, an increase of 15.46% on month, but a decrease of 7.06% on year, according to data from the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE). Accumulated revenues for the first three quarters of 2009 dropped 30.1% on year to NT$1.95 billion.
As the company will start shipping projective capacitive touch panels to China handset clients in the fourth quarter, during which STN panel orders will also be growing steadily, the company expects better sales in the quarter than in the third, market sources noted.
With orders for its projective capacitive touch panels expected to continue growing in the fourth quarter, EDT expects touch panels to account for 10-20% of its total revenues in the quarter, the sources said.
