SDIC Huajing Power Holdings, a China-based constructor of power plants, has signed a preliminary agreement with Golmud, a remote city located in a desert region of Qinghai province, northwestern China, for investment to build a 200MWp grid-connected photovoltaic power plant in the city, according to a SDIC press release on May 7.
The construction project will be in two phases, with 100MWp to be completed in the first phase at an estimated investment of two billion yuan (US$293 million), SDIC indicated.
However, SDIC has not yet finished feasibility evaluation of the project, which will be subject to approval by government authorities, the company said.
