Handset-use touch panel orders from Samsung Electronics have been driving sales of Taiwan-based suppliers Young Fast Optoelectronics and J Touch, with the latter maker seeing over half of its revenues from the Korean client, according to industry sources.
For Young Fast, Samsung, LG Electronics (LGE), High Tech Computer (HTC) and Sharp account for about 80% of its total revenues, the sources said.
Samsung touch screen handset shipments are estimated to be about 40 million units for 2008, the sources noted.
