Posiflex Technologies and Protech Systems, two Taiwan-based makers of POS (point of sale/service) equipment/devices, are showcasing their products at the RetailTech Japan exhibition taking place in Tokyo during March 3-6, in a bid to tap the Japanese market and also support Microsoft's Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 product lines, according to the two companies.
Microsoft, through efforts to cooperate with ISVs (independent software vendors) and providers of system integration for adopting POSReady 2009, has had more than 170 partners for the POS application including hardware OEM makers, according to marketing director John Boladian for Microsoft's Windows Embedded Business in the Asia Pacific & Greater China region.
