The compact and lightweight Acer Aspire One integrates basic computing features and connectivity, winning itself a WinHEC 2008 Award. The Aspire One is an Intel Atom-based netbook series, which measures 240x170mm and weighs less than 1kg.
The 8.9-inch wide LED backlit LCD with 1024x600 resolutions (WSVGA) features the Acer CrystalBrite, a technology that ensures maximum screen brightness in all lighting conditions.
Coming with Linpus Linux Lite version or Windows XP Home, the Aspire One is built with Wi-Fi WAN ready. Acer said that integrated WiMAX and 3G data connectivity options will be added to its next-generation Aspire One series.

With up to 1GB in internal memory, the Aspire One also offers either an 8GB solid state drive (SSD) or 80GB hard disk drive (HDD). The battery life is rated at three hours using the standard 3-cell battery, and up to six hours with an optional 6-cell battery.
In addition to the WinHEC Award, Acer's Aspire One, launched in July 2008, has also received the Japan Good Design Award.
