Wintek LCM plant in India to start mass production in June

Wintek's LCD module (LCM) plant located in India at the Nokia Telecom Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will start mass production by the end of June, according to CC Hsu executive VP at Wintek. Capacity at the plant will be mainly focus on supplying handset panel modules, Hsu added.

The plant's maximum capacity is scheduled to reach 10 million units per month, but is not expected to be fully loaded initially. The line will also share capacity with Wintek's production of TFT and STN LCD modules.

In other news, Wintek has revealed plans to set up new two new lines, one for the manufacture of capacitive touch panels and another for resistive touch panels, both located in Taichung, Taiwan.
