Thanks to strong shipments of flat-panel TVs, Amtran Technology posted revenues of NT$26.59 billion (US$806 million) for the first half of 2007, up 113% on year. Operating profits for the period totaled NT$702 million, up 24% sequentially with after-tax profits reaching NT$722 million, according to the company.
The company's flat-panel TV shipments for the first half of this year have exceed the overall annual shipments last year which reached 990,000 units, said Amtran.
Amtran expects overall flat-panel TV shipments to achieve the company goal of 2.6 million units in 2007 with revenues of more than NT$60 billion, the company projected.
